An article in today’s Daily Telegraph says that scientists from Southampton University found that in a sample of 330 people who survived ‘clinical death’ following cardiac arrest around 40% claimed to have experienced consciousness after they ‘died’. The doctor carrying out the study believes that the 40% may be an underestimate as many may have forgotten their experience because of drugs and administered during the resuscitation process. Patients reported out of body experiences, feeling a sense of peace and seeing a bright light.
