2 Nephi 2:9

Wherefore, he is the firstfruits unto God, inasmuch as he shall make intercession for all the children of men; and they that believe in him shall be saved.

“Jesus is the great Mediator, Advocate, and Intercessor. His mission is to plead the cause of his saints in the courts above. He makes intercession for them, advocates their causes, and performs the divine service of mediation which reconciles them to God. ‘There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.’ (1 Tim. 2:5.)”

The Lord’s great plan of happiness for us depended on Jesus Christ . He was foreordained to be Saviour and Redeemer and there was no Plan B! The story of Christmas is not just the story of a baby in a manger but the story of an infinite and omnipotent being who willingly condescended to come to this earth to save God’s children throughout the Universe.
