This brief chapter is a song of praise to Jehovah.
22.1
In the millennial day all men will praise the Lord.
22.2
This (Isaiah 12:2) is one of the four times only that Jehovah is written out in full in the King James English Bible. In all other places Lord is used instead.
This verse gives us 4 characteristics of those who believe:
- They trust God
- They conquer their fears
- They have strength beyond their own
- They express their love of God in song
22.3
“Brothers and sisters, as we conclude this conference, I invite you to feel more joy in your life: joy in the knowledge that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real; joy in the Savior’s ability, willingness, and desire to forgive; and joy in choosing to repent. Let us follow the instruction to “with joy … draw water out of the wells of salvation.” May we choose to repent, forsake our sins, and turn our hearts and wills around to follow our Savior. I testify of His living reality. I am a witness and repeated recipient of His incomparable compassion, mercy, and love. I pray that the redeeming blessings of His Atonement may be yours now—and again and again and again throughout your lives.” (Elder Dale G Renlund, General Conference, October 2016)
Verses 4-6 A song of praise is a prayer to God (See D&C 25:12)
22.4
Israel is called upon to declare God’s mercies and remember His name.
22.5
The Lord truly has done excellent things for us!
22.6
The Lord will dwell among them.
