President Jeffrey R Holland

Learned if you don’t give an acceptable talk you can be banned for several Conferences. Positioned on a trapdoor with a very delicate latch.

Passing off my beloved wife Pat…she fulfilled the measure of her creation more than anyone could have dreamed possible.

48 hours after my wife’s burial – spent 4 weeks of a 6 week stay in and out of hospital and in and out on consciousness.

Received an admonition to return to my ministry with more energy.

Since that experience I have tried to take up my cross with more energy.

Endless gratitude for the resolute prayers of this Church….of which I have been the recipient.

Gratitude is happiness doubles by wonder – GK Chesterton.

God hears every prayer that we offer…I promise you they are heard and they are answered.

We are to pray always.

Our prayers ought to be vocal when we have the privacy to so offer them.

We should pray individually, in our families and in congregations of all sizes.

Some efforts to keep us from praying come directly from the adversary.

Ultimately we can look to the Saviour’s example who felt the need to pray so very, very often.

Sometimes he stood to pray, sometimes he knelt and at least once he fell on his face to pray.

I bear solemn witness of the reality of eternal life.

[Did he imply he only had a few weeks or months to live?]

We need to believe in angels and miracles and the promises of the priesthood.

We need to believe in revelation and prophets, seers and revelators.

Sister J Annette Dennis

When God the Father offered His only Begotten Son as a sacrifice for us Jesus Christ became the highest symbol of God’s love for us.

Each person on earth is a beloved son or daughter of God.

The covenant path is all about our relationship with God.

Through honouring our covenants we allow God to pour out the multitude of blessings associated with that covenant.

As we are baptised we symbolically die and are born again.

With our baptism we symbolically put on Christ.

Sacrament – Christ symbolically becomes a part of us.

Everything we do in the temple points at our Father’s plan for us.

The garment of the holy priesthood is deeply symbolic and also points at the Saviour.

As we put on the garment of the holy priesthood every day that beautiful symbol becomes a part of us.

There is deep and beautiful and symbolic meaning in the garment of the holy priesthood.

If you have not yet done so I invite you to choose a deeper relationship with our Lord by entering into covenants on the temple.

Through a covenant relationship with God our own lives can become a symbol of our commitment to Him.

Elder Alexander Dushku

Recounted First Vision.

We too have our own desperate needs…we too need to know for ourselves.

One of the great truths of the Restoration is that the heavens are open.

Sometimes faithful members become confused and drift away because they have not had overwhelming spiritual experiences.

Rather than sending us a pillar of light, the Lord sent us a ray of light and then another and then another.

The light of Christ is literally all around us.

We are living in revelation – David A Bednar.

Maybe you struggle to feel the spirit in the moment.

I have not seen a pillar of light but like you I have experienced many divine rays.

[Shared some experiences with the Spirit]

These are some of my rays – you have had your own experiences.

Here a ray, and there a ray -one small treasured spiritual experience at a time.

That which is of God is light.

We too will find a loving Heavenly Father calling us by name and pointing us to the Saviour.

[A wonderful, amazing session so far!]

Elder Ulisses Soares

Holiness to the Lord – a clear invitation that when we enter the Lord’s holy house we embark on a sacred journey to become higher and holier disciples.

The result of this sacred journey is that we receive a higher and holier confidence in our daily lives.

“Cast not therefore away your confidence”

Nephi beautifully exemplified the power of this covenant confidence.

Because of Nephi’s confidence in the Lord’s promises he was able to accomplish what the Lord had commanded him to do.

[Shared experience of wife in temple]

“My disciples shall stand in holy places and shall not be moved”

If we change our preparation to enter the temple we will change our experience in the temple which will transform our lives outside the temple.

[Story of Bishop who called the oldest primary class the temple preparation class]

Home centred, church supported and temple bound.

The temple lies at the centre of strengthening our faith – President Nelson

Everything taught in the temple increases our understanding of Jesus Christ – President Nelson

The House of the Lord is where we can be transformed in higher and holier ways.

If we want the spirit of the Lord to be unrestrained in our lives we cannot and must not have unkind thoughts towards anyone.

Elder Jack N Gerard

Jesus Christ is our exemplar.

Integrity flows from the first great commandment to love God.

Integrity means we do not lower our standards or behaviour to impress or be accepted by others.

SWK taught integrity is our willingness and ability to live by our beliefs and our commitments.

Daniel was always true to God.

The King came to know God through Daniel’s integrity.

Being true to God will increasingly set us apart from the world.

We must resist the temptation to walk in our own way.

Exercising integrity in our choices is an outward expression of an inner commitment to follow God.

A life of integrity is not a life of perfection.

Saying we have integrity is insufficient if our actions are inconsistent with our words.

We must be beyond reproach.

Our focus is on the Saviour.

Korihor – I always knew that there was a God.

Korihor deceived himself and the truth was not in him.

President Henry B Eyring

[Joining from home]

[Shared experience of attending a temple seeing at Idaho Falls. Noticed workers and patrons conversing nervously. Teton Dam had collapsed. Much of Rexburg under water. Concerns turned to safety of children at home, college students and faculty and community. Had no way of communicating with our children. All roads closed. Prayed in motel room for safety of children and thousands of other affected. Fell asleep. Wife woke him – Hal, how can you sleep at a time like this? He replied – whatever the outcome all will be well because of temple covenants and sealings. Grateful later to learn that children were safe.]

I have been blessed to experience that peace every time I enter the temple.

As we attend the temple we can be reminded of the eternal nature of our spirits.

The safest place to be spiritually is living inside your temple covenants – President Nelson

Once we make a covenant with God we leave neutral ground forever. – President Nelson

The Lord has accelerated and will continue to accelerate the building of temples across the world.

Qualifying to make sacred covenants is not a one time effort but a lifelong pattern.

Every covenant with God is an opportunity to draw closer to Him.

Give children opportunities to pray for each other.

When siblings pray fr each other and serve each other hearts will be softened and turn towards each other and to parents.

None of us are immune from thorns of the flesh.

Live so that when the call comes you can walk away easily – counsel from President Kimball.

No matter the outcome all will be well because of the temple covenants.
